Sunday August 4th, the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club will host our 4th Annual Criterium Bike Race. Riders from the New England area will come to Maine to race on the streets of Downtown Lewiston. This exciting race will be on a short, fast loop around Lisbon and Canal Streets. Criterium racing is much like a short-track stock car race. Racers will do laps of the half mile loop for about one hour per race. Speeds will reach nearly 40 mph in sections. There will be 7 different races during the day starting at 9:30 AM. Spectating is free of charge and highly encouraged.

The race will benefit Maine Adaptive Sports. Founded in 1982, Maine Adaptive is now the largest year-round adaptive recreation program in the state of Maine for adults and children with disabilities. Over 400 volunteers assist our athletes in appreciating the joys and challenges of sports participation. A demonstration of adaptive bicycles will be held at 8:45 AM right on the course.

There is plenty of free parking available surrounding the race loop. The Start/Finish line will be at Dufrense Plaza on Lisbon Street. For more info contact Rainbow Bike at
